object_sdss_tiling.fits

This file contains the information regarding how each object was treated by the SDSS tiling software. Entries are basically copied from the file $VAGC_REDUX/sdss/sdss_tiling_catalog.fits. Entries with SDSS_TILING_TAG==-1 were never input to tiling by the SDSS.

The columns of this file are

1. SDSS_TILING_TAG: unique tag for each entry
2. RUN: SDSS drift scan target found in
3. RERUN: target reprocessing rerun number
4. CAMCOL: target camcol
5. FIELD: target field
6. ID: target id
7. RA: Right ascension, J2000, degrees
8. DEC: Declination, J2000, degrees
9. PRIORITY: a priority to help decide collisions (lower is higher priority)
10. TILEID: id of the tile the target was assigned to (-1 if none)
11. MASK: flag describing happened to the target during the tiling process (-1 if target was never tiled --- think about it, it happens for the "Best" sample). The bits are:
    • 0 (ASSIGNED): assigned to a tile
    • 1 (DECOLLIDED): a decollided target
    • 2 (COVERED): covered by a tile
    This mask can occasionally be wrongly set in the files and it is best to ignore it.
12. COLLISIONGROUP: This tracks which objects are in the same group, when using a linking length of 55 arcsec.
13. OVERLAP: Synonymous with sector.
14. PRIMTARGET: Indicates the type of target this galaxy was in the targeting version (see the SDSS web site for detail).
15. SECTARGET: Indicates the type of target this galaxy was in the targeting version (see the SDSS web site for detail).
16. OBJC_ROWC: Pixel row in targeting image
17. OBJC_COLC: Pixel column in targeting image
18. PSFMAG[5]: PSF magnitude in targeting image

This file only contains matches to object_sdss_imaging objects. In order to access the full catalog, look in the file:
